How long should my video assessment be?
Your video length will depend on the assessment level — Level 2 consultations are shorter, while Level 3 requires more depth and detail.
The duration of your video assessment varies depending on the task and qualification level. It’s important to give yourself enough time to demonstrate all required elements clearly without rushing or missing key details.
Level 2 Client Consultation
-
Your consultation video should be around 15–20 minutes long.
-
This gives you enough time to:
-
Build rapport with your client.
-
Gather essential information about their goals and health.
-
Carry out two physical health screenings (e.g., blood pressure and BMI).
-
-
Focus on demonstrating clear communication, professionalism, and accurate screening procedures.
Level 3 Client Consultation
-
Your Level 3 consultation should be a minimum of 20 minutes, with around 30 minutes usually being ideal.
-
This assessment is much more in-depth than Level 2, as you’ll be:
-
Exploring your client’s full lifestyle, exercise history, and goals.
-
Assessing readiness, barriers, and preferences.
-
Using this information to design a 12-week personalised training programme.
-
-
The aim is to show your ability to gather comprehensive, relevant information and demonstrate advanced consultation skills.
💡 Tip: Don’t rush your consultation — quality is more important than length. Speak clearly, keep your notes visible, and ensure the camera captures both you and your client for the full duration.
