I have an injury. Am I still allowed to take part in the Pilates courses?

Yes — in many cases you can still take part. It depends on your injury, your comfort levels, and what feels safe for you.

Pilates training includes a wide range of progressions, regressions, and modifications, so even if you are injured, you can often continue learning by adapting movements, reducing intensity, or observing when needed. Many learners with injuries complete the course successfully with the right support.

How participation works if you are injured

  • You can often participate at your own pace, doing only what feels safe.

  • You may choose to observe certain exercises — observation is still a valuable and acceptable form of learning.

  • Your tutor will help you make safe modifications to movements where needed.

  • Your assessment plan may be adjusted so you can complete required outcomes without aggravating your injury.

Please communicate with us early

It’s important to let us know about your injury:

  • Before you enrol, if the injury already exists; or

  • As soon as it occurs, if it happens during your course.

This allows us to:

  • Advise you on what is safe and appropriate

  • Adapt your learning where needed

  • Support you through the workshops and assessments

  • Ensure you still meet the learning outcomes without risk

💡 Tip: Pilates is highly adaptable. With open communication and the right modifications, most injured learners are still able to progress confidently through the course. Use the chatbot and type “Speak to a human” if you’d like personalised advice based on your specific injury.
