What do I need to know about the Pilates teaching assessments?
Your teaching assessment is a practical, in-person evaluation designed to support your development and confirm you can safely and effectively teach a full Pilates class.
Pilates cohorts complete their teaching assessments across two scheduled assessment days. Understanding what to expect will help you feel prepared, confident, and ready to perform at your best.
Key things to know:
-
Cohorts are split across two assessment days
Each group is divided into two dates, with around six learners per day. -
You must bring one guest
Your guest will take part in your class and help you demonstrate safe cueing, flow, and technical teaching.
(If you are struggling to find a guest, contact us early and we will discuss options.) -
You must be available for one of the two assessment dates
Please make sure you can commit to at least one before enrolling on the course. -
You will teach a full 60-minute class
This includes:-
A structured warm-up
-
A progressive main section
-
A cool-down
-
Safe transitions and clear teaching throughout
After teaching, you will complete:
-
A written self-evaluation
-
A post-teaching discussion with your assessor
-
-
You will also participate in other learners’ assessments
This helps create realistic class environments and is an important part of the assessment process. -
You’ll receive your result the same day
Whether you have passed or been referred, you will be told before you leave.-
If referred, you’ll receive a clear action plan and tailored support to help you prepare for your reassessment.
