What format should my programme or lesson plan be in?
Use the Word document template provided in your course materials to make sure you meet the assessment criteria.
To help you create your programme or lesson plan correctly, we’ve provided a Word document template that includes all the key sections and structure required by the assessment team. Using this template ensures you cover the right level of detail and meet every assessment criterion.
Here’s how to find it:
-
Go to the relevant task in your course.
-
Open the “Materials” section.
-
Download the programme or lesson plan template (Word document).
-
Complete the template in full, following the structure provided.
In the same section, you’ll also find an example 12-week programme to guide you. Reviewing this example will help you understand the expected level of detail, formatting, and clarity needed to pass your assessment.
For Level 3 learners:
The Level 3 template is designed so you can submit the programme overview section first for assessment before completing the full plan. This allows your assessor to check that you’re on the right track before you invest time in writing out all the detailed sessions. Once approved, you can then flesh out the full plan with confidence that your approach meets the requirements.
Once completed, save your plan as a .docx or .pdf file and upload it to the platform for marking.
💡 Tip: Always double-check that your plan includes clear goals, session outlines, progression details, and evidence of client adaptation — these are key elements assessors look for.
