What happens if my Pilates assignment work is referred?
A referral is not a fail — it’s simply an opportunity to improve your work with clear guidance so you can pass on your next submission.
We use a refer, not fail approach across all Pilates coursework. This means that if your assignment is referred, you’re being given a chance to strengthen specific areas so you can confidently meet the assessment criteria.
What happens when your work is referred
If your assignment is referred:
-
Your assessor will provide clear, detailed feedback explaining:
-
Which criteria were not fully met
-
What information needs to be added, corrected, or improved
-
-
You will be given a new deadline for resubmission
-
You can resubmit your work as many times as needed, with no additional fees
-
The feedback you receive is designed to support you, not penalise you
A referral simply means you are on the right track, and just need to evidence or explain a little more to meet the standard required.
Some stages must be passed before moving forward
Pilates qualifications follow a structured progression. Certain assignments must be passed before you can advance to the next stage. For example:
-
Your session plans must be passed before you attend your practical workshops
-
Certain written tasks must be completed before you attend assessments
-
Practical elements must meet standards before you progress to the next section
Your assessor will always guide you through what needs to happen next so you know exactly where you stand.
