Why did I get referred when I thought I passed?
Referrals happen when part of your work doesn’t fully meet the assessment criteria — but don’t worry, it’s a normal part of the learning process.
Our courses are based on a government-approved qualification framework, which means your work must meet strict standards set by both the awarding body and Create’s own internal quality procedures. This ensures that every learner who qualifies is truly ready to work safely, confidently, and professionally in the fitness industry.
Why referrals happen:
-
Your submission met most of the requirements, but one or more criteria weren’t fully covered.
-
Your explanation, evidence, or demonstration might need more depth, clarity, or accuracy.
-
A small error or omission prevented the task from meeting the full standard for a pass.
-
The assessor may have identified an area where you need to demonstrate understanding or practical application more clearly.
When your work is referred, it’s not a failure — it simply means you need to make a few improvements before passing. Your assessor will provide clear, constructive feedback outlining exactly what needs to be changed or added.
Once you’ve made the necessary updates, you can resubmit your work for reassessment.
💡 Tip: Always read your feedback carefully and compare it against the assessment criteria in your course materials — this will help you make precise changes and pass on your next attempt.
